Shiatsu

Dr. Purcaro attended the Ohashi Institute in NYC in 1979 and again in 1997 to study Shiatsu. Shiatsu is based on the premise that health compromises are based on blockage or congestion in the body. Shiatsu is based on acupuncture theory working along meridian channels that correspond to various organ systems in the body. Shiatsu employs acupressure in place of needles and is a form of massage. The results can be better ranges of movement, relaxation, and less stress. All these results can bring us closer to optimal health.

Shiatsu is a finger pressure massage technique. Shiatsu massage therapy is founded on the Chinese meridian system. The therapist applies pressure with his thumbs, finger, and palms to specific areas of the client's body that have been determined during an assessment period prior to the massage session. There are no needle pokes involved with Shiatsu. Massage techniques like tapping, squeezing, rubbing, and applied pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of qi.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Dr. Purcaro is a 1984 graduate of Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, GA.

Chiropractic philosophy believes that blockage to the central nervous system from the muscular and skeletal structure of the body causes disease. Chiropractic and Shiatsu work well together to relieve obstructions in our bodies.
